Partial resumption of operations

Limited operational capacity with partial resumption of postal operations and air traffic restricted to relief and special operational flights

EmIS 053/2026

Further to EmIS 045/2026 (below), the designated operator of Qatar, Qatar Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that it has partially resumed postal operations, with limited operational capacity.

Air traffic remains limited and is currently restricted to relief and special operational flights via secured corridors; regular flight schedules have not yet been fully restored. The situation remains subject to sudden changes depending on operational conditions.

To facilitate the flow of mail, Qatar Post has activated surface transport to and from Qatar across its land border. Designated operators may therefore send mail to neighbouring countries by air and subsequently forward it to Qatar via surface transport.

Furthermore, Qatar Post wishes to confirm that if designated operators are able to arrange alternative transport solutions to deliver mail to Qatar, Qatar Post is prepared to receive such mail and to handle its clearance and processing in accordance with the applicable operational procedures.

Qatar Post will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates via EmIS as necessary.

Qatar Post thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding.

Qatar (EmIS 045/2026 of 28.02.2026)

EmIS 045/2026

The designated operator of Qatar, Qatar Post, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that, owing to security conditions and the interruption of air transport operations in the region, it has suspended its international postal services with effect from 28 February 2026.

This suspension applies to all categories of international mail (letter-post, parcel-post, EMS and e‑commerce items), both inbound and outbound.

Qatar Post thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding, and will inform them via EmIS when air transport operations and international postal services have resumed.
