Members of the EMS Cooperative recently met in Dubai during the Union’s 28th Universal Postal Congress for a pivotal General Assembly. With a shared vision and active engagement, approximately 100 participants in Dubai and 60 online, made significant decisions to support the future direction of the EMS network.

The highlight of the meeting was the approval of the new EMS Strategic Plan for 2026–2029, titled 'EMS Vision 2029'. This forward-looking strategy outlines a commitment from members to ensure the growth and sustainability of EMS services.

As the global markets continue to evolve, improving EMS service performance - as the fastest postal service, and meeting customer needs, remain a top priority. Many EMS Cooperative members are already demonstrating excellence in this area. The General Assembly recognized both the significant achievements and the scale of the challenges ahead.

The meeting also served as a moment of celebration: a special EMS Award ceremony honoured the top-performing EMS operators of 2024. Gold, Silver, and Bronze EMS Performance Awards as well as EMS Customer Care awards were presented by UPU Director General Masahiko Metoki, UPU Deputy Director General Marjan Osvald, and EMS Cooperative Board Chair Nabil Bensissaid.

The General Assembly was marked by constructive discussions and broad support for all agenda items. The meeting represents a significant milestone, the unified commitment of members providing a clear green light for the EMS Cooperative to move forward with confidence.
