In 2025, EMS Cooperative members will continue their collaborative efforts to ensure that EMS remains a reliable, international priority express service for e-commerce customers. To make continual improvements to the quality of the service, the EMS Cooperative organizes a series of events bringing together operators from around the world to exchange ideas and share best practice.
Each year, two major events involve all members. In 2025, the first of these major events is the EMS Cooperative General Assembly on 13 and 14 February. During this meeting members will review current projects and activities. This will include further consultation on the future strategy for the service, the sharing of the draft of the new EMS Cooperative Business Plan for 2026–2029.
2025 is a special year, instead of the usual Global Workshop, there will be a second EMS Cooperative Extraordinary General Assembly which will take place on 7 September in Dubai. This event will align with the 28th Universal Postal Congress, the supreme authority of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) which meets every four years.
Alongside these major events, the EMS Cooperative also participates in a regular schedule of regional events. Regional events are a chance for operators to address local challenges and tailor solutions for their regions. In 2024, these included two symposia for senior managers for Asia-Pacific (April/May) and the African region (June), as well as six regional workshops and five performance reviews.
The Regional Coordinators are busy planning the regional events for 2025. Further symposia, workshops and performance reviews are being prepared (details to be announced). As always, the face-face events will be complemented by the regular schedule of regional teleconferences.
The first regional event of 2025 has already taken place. In January, the EMS Regional Coordinator for Asia Pacific, worked closely with Nepal Post to conduct an EMS Performance Review which identified solutions that will ultimately benefit EMS customers in Nepal.
None of these events would be possible without the support and participation from EMS operators around the world. We thank operators who have shown their commitment to the EMS service by their engagement in these events and together will work to provide customers with a reliable international priority service.
