Severe weather conditions and heavy rainfalls have led to floods

The designated operator of Austria, Österreichische Post, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that severe weather conditions and heavy rainfalls have led to floods in large parts of Austria.
This natural disaster has caused major logistical disruption, including road closures and direct impacts on postal infrastructure.
As a result, delays are to be expected in the delivery of letters, parcels and EMS items. Effective from 16 September 2024, Österreichische Post is unable to guarantee service delivery standards for all inbound postal items.
Österreichische Post wishes to thank all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding. It will provide an update via EmIS once the situation has returned to normal.
